UNDERLYING HEALTH CONIDITONS & AT RISK GROUPS
The Scottish Government issued new guidance on 18th June 2020 for people with an “underlying health condition” or “at risk”.
Renfrewshire Council took a decision at the start of “lockdown” to send all staff home for a period of 12 weeks with either “underlying health conditions” or those considered “at risk” based on your own individual assessment. That period ended on 18th June 2020 and the following sets out the next steps.
Please see link for further information on your specific circumstances:
You may be contacted by the employer to discuss your individual circumstances in relation to this guidance and your work situation:
- If you have a “Shielding” letter you should not return before 31st July 2020 – this is the next review date for “shielding”.
- If you consider after reading the guidance relevant to your circumstances that your condition meets the requirement under “shielding”, you should speak to your G.P. or hospital physician about being issued with a “shielding” letter and advise the employer of this.
- If the “shielding” criteria does not apply then the employer will want to discuss with you various options including: Homeworking, Returning to Work, Deployment etc. (please note that a “risk assessment” will be carried out prior to any of these options being put in place).
Please be assured that no-one will be put at risk and where necessary some employees may be asked to attend or speak to occupational health to establish a suitable solution.
