COVID 19 – UPDATE

Dear Colleague

HOME WORKING/LAUNDRY/BREAK/TRAVEL EXPENSES

Please see attached correspondence in relation to UNISON’s call for employee incurred expenses to paid retrospectively. The correspondence was sent to both Renfrewshire Council and the Health & Social Care Partnership.

EDUCATION & EARLY YEARS RECOVERY

Some early year’s establishments have already returned to work and providing services to children in the 52 week areas.

Schools and Nursery Classes are waiting further information on the recovery plan which is still to be determined by the Scottish Government. In my capacity as UNISON Scotland’s Chair of Local Government I met last week with John Swinney, Deputy First Minister to discuss recovery plans and also met with Professor Tannahill in relation to the Scientific advice for education settings. Further guidance has been received and will be issued to members shortly. The Scottish Government will make a decision on whether it will be a “blended learning” or “full” return on or around 30th July 2020.

We will contact members when we have further information.

Thanks

Mark Ferguson
Branch Secretary
