UNISON is one of the UK’s largest trade unions, serving more than 1.3 million members.
As a branch we represent and act for members working in a range of public services and utilities, whether they’re employed by private companies, public authorities or in the community and voluntary sector.
We represent members, negotiate and bargain on their behalf, campaign for better working conditions and pay and for public services. And more besides.
Our branch represents around 4,000 members in the Renfrewshire area. We are a campaigning branch, we value our members as well as the community they work and live in.
Our members are served by a local office in Paisley which provides an initial point of contact and advice.
Mark Ferguson is the current Branch Secretary. He is also elected to the union’s Local Government Service Group Executive, the Scottish Local Government Committee which he Chairs and the Scottish Committee. He is supported locally by a number of experienced branch officers and shop stewards who volunteer to work on your behalf.
